The TSS Exercise of the Week is one of my favorite accessory exercises for the shoulders. Its called the Jammer Press aka the Strap Press. Find a name and use it, it doesn't matter what you call it, it only matters that you do the work. I use ring straps or a sled strap (even rope) and wrap it around the end of the barbell set just below where you would normally do a strict press form in the rack. You do need a fixed power rack here, squat stands will not do, and if you have a lighter rack thats not bolted to the ground that won't work either as it may tip over. Once you have the strap wrapped over the top part of the rack and fixed by pins, wrap it around the end of the bar and press it out of the rack. |
