I discovered The Strength Shop the summer of 2009, my junior year of high school. A buddy of mine showed me Matt's videos on youtube. I got extremely interested in what he was doing, so my buddy gave him a call and we went in there.
Ever since ive been training at the shop, my athleticism and explosiveness has increased tremendously. I am now a better baseball player than i have ever been before and i am in the best shape of my life now. Me and my training partner, Matt Ittner, are extremely dedicated to training and we love Matt's routines. Matt is a great coach and has an answer to every question thrown his way. Since being under his wing, he has made me even more mentally tough, which is a must for competive sports.
The amount of knowledge, strength, and athletic ability I have gained since I started training at The Strength Shop is insurmountable.
The amount of knowledge, strength, and athletic ability I have gained since I started training at The Strength Shop is insurmountable. The reason I was drawn to The Strength Shop and Matt Wichlinski was because of the results I had heard from other baseball players who were training with him. My training has consisted of Olympic power movements, strength and assistance movements using tools such as dumbbells, barbells, kettle bells, and sandbags just to name a few. The ultimate goal for me in my training is to see results on the baseball field. With baseball being filled with ballistic movements, the amount of power that I can put out will correlate with my success on the field. I saw this first hand with my offensive numbers between my freshman and sophomore years in junior college. Every offensive category increased and the largest increase was seen in my slugging percentage, which in baseball terms directly correlates to a player’s power and strength output. Also this past fall at Virginia Wesleyan the baseball team had workouts that had speed and agility drills involved in them. The speed and agility drills consisted of ladder, 5-10-5, and four cone drills. In my two years of training under Matt Wichlinski I had never done one of these types of speed and agility drills, but I tested out with times that were the best on the team. This really struck a chord with me because it proved that the training program, methods and mentoring that Matt Wichlinski had provided me with had more then paid off for me as an athlete.
If you are a athlete and are looking to dominant your peers in your chosen sport then Matt Wichlinski and The Strength Shop is the place for you. The progression one makes in strength, speed, and overall athletic ability at The Strength Shop is second to none. Since day one Matt Wichlinski has been dedicated to my success not only as an athlete but also as a person, and I owe a lot to him for that. Training at The Strength Shop has been the best decision I have made for my baseball career and I know I will continue to progress in the weight room and on the baseball field because that is the only option one has when training at the shop
