All the programmed training and hard work we do in the gym comes down to one reality: how well do you perform? We all should train for a reason, whether it to look better, feel better, or perform better. But something that should never be taken for granted, is having the ability to get outside and have some fun. Check the video to see what this session was all about. Sometimes you gotta get away from the barbell, you gotta step away from the weight, and you gotta get outside and feel life right up in your face. Its important to be strong in the gym, but it means nothing if you don't live a strong lifestyle with integrity, courage, leadership and genius. When people ask me about working out, I talk about how to live a strong life, not about how to bench press.

Great message and video about the power of play-and a great reminder especially for me- there is not a great deal of "play" that goes on in MMA/Combat Conditioning. I need to get back to that in order to be better at coaching.

Matt,
you hit the spot right there and it is something that is constantly on my mind. Strength is fine but if you don't have the athleticism and mobility you have nothing in real life! A good athlete half your size will whoop yr ass in about any field except bench pressing and some other strength feats. Seen it many, many times. This holds true especially in the fight game.
Beside being "number" strong you got to be "body" strong and know how to operate your body in movement. That combined is " life" strong!
Peace
Sven
